This week, the enamelled wire industry continued its off-season doldrums, with the industry's machine operating rate down 0.4 percentage points MoM to 77.73%. New orders also declined by 1.97 percentage points, as the traditional off-season effect persisted, demand remained sluggish, and home appliance sector demand showed no improvement. Enamelled round wire orders continued to underperform. Additionally, the upward shift in copper prices' center further dampened demand, highlighting operational pressures. Inventory-wise, finished product inventories at enamelled wire producers rebounded to 9.99 days, remaining at elevated levels. Overall, the off-season effect continued to intensify, with no substantive demand-side improvement. Coupled with additional disruptions from copper price volatility, both machine operating rates and new orders sustained contraction. SMM expects the industry's machine operating rate to pull back to 77.87% next week.
